The event was based at the Wenlock Edge inn, and split into two sections containing via's with approach and depart directions.
Crew’s were instructed to travel the shortest route using as little "B" road as possible, (this should have been the sting in the tail had it not been for the A49 being closed for re-surfacing in Leebotwood!Unfortunately giving the orgs no option but to scrub part of Section Two. This would in fact be an advantage to certain crews (who had missed the "B" road sting whilst plotting).Section 1 started SW of the PH, a short run down the B before slotting off down through Lushcott to Longville (less use of "B" road) then N through Plaish, and then S to Wall under Haywood.
Here we slotted left and right, through Rushbury and back into Wall (less B  again) It was then N towards Cardington to the manned control just prior to the village where we were greeted by the ever friendly Chris & Sandra who collected our scorecard.Section 2 took us E through Willstone, a loop back into Cardington before heading N to the Chatwall hairpin and E towards All Stretton. This is where a few crews were caught out by the "B" road instruction; the route should have taken us N towards Leebotwood before slotting W under the railway to pick up a valid code board before looping back to Leebotwood.
Some crews departed W therefore using 200m more of "B" road!  So, unable to travel any further N on the A49 than the junction with the B4577 we made our way along the Roman road rejoining the route to the east of Leebotwood.
Back on route it took us through the dry(!!) fords of the Roman road, we then slotted R on the edge of the map to the notorious unseen 45R over the bridge N of Lawley!
It was now S through the Lawley hairpins, via Chatwall before heading N and off the map in SQ5399!! A tulip diagram then enabled us to return back onto the map in SQ5599. We now travelled S through Hughley and Presthope where we picked up what would be the final code board, a very cleverly placed "H" as all the preceding code boards had been numbers that descended down in number, the previous one being 12!! (nice.)
It was then a short run back down the B to the PH and a pint.

The event started in a car park in Newport and was split into two sections.
Section 1 instructed us to travel the shortest route, avoiding a selection of black spots that had been issued in the route instructions, and cross the River Messe four times (hence the name of the event!) We departed SW through Longford collecting two code boards in succession, before turning northwards to Edgmond. Having dodged the students around the agricultural college we travelled NW to the 'not as map' white junction in SQ6821, from there we went S into Tibberton, and N again through Great Bolas towards Howle. Here we had to take the tricky to spot SqL with the county border running through it, a code board along here was supposed to penalise those who missed the junction (unfortunately it went missing prior to our arrival!) therefore benefiting several crews. Next, NW through The Nook before heading southwards, passing through Eaton upon Tern and Great Bolas to the finish of the section at the junction with the B road in SQ6519.
Section 2 started east of Crudgington at the junction near Leasowes Farm. From here we travelled SE along the 'bumpy' yellow through Crudgington Moor, where we encoutered 3 codeboards in quick succession, before turning northwards back to the B road. A short non-competitive run along the B before a loop around Conquermoor Heath (we were instructed to travel the longest way in this section, again avoiding black spots) It was now S through Kynnersley and Preston upon the Weald Moors, and SW through Wappenshall to the section finish at the A road junction in SQ6513.
The finish venue was The Albion in St Georges where we were greeted with a curry, chilli and rice whilst awaiting the results.

The event was based at The Horseshoes Inn, Uckington and was split into three sections.
We were issued with section 1 instructions only at the start. This was to be plotted and driven, before returning to PH with our scorecards where we would collect section 2 and 3 instructions.
Section 1 instructed us to travel the shortest route from the PH staying south of Northing 11 and departing ENE, and back to the PH approaching WSW (well it did once Jonathan had got his roamer the correct way around!) So it was a short run up the "B" before slotting right towards Uppington, where we quickly picked up our first code board. From here we changed onto map 127 (unfortunately it wasn't Nick's night as he had arrived with the wrong map!! Karl though had a spare, of which he kindly loaned it to the duo, in order for them to continue) heading S to Rushton and then W back onto map 126, collecting two more code boards in succession. The shortest way around the infamous Charlton Hill triangle before a short run up the "B" where we slotted right at the Wroxeter Roman Ruins and right again along the un-fenced yellow, took us to the end of the section. With section 1 answers handed in we were issued with Section 2 and 3 instructions.
Section 2 instructed us again to travel the shortest route, and again staying south of Northing 11, but using the minimum amount of section 1 whilst staying as close to it as possible!! Again we departed ENE along the "B", this time though continuing along it onto map 127, going under the A5 before slotting right towards Aston. From here it was S to the Woodsgreen crossroads (closest to S1) and then E along the 2km straight north of the Wrekin. Code boards a plenty along here!! A clockwise loop around 'the hill' saw us once again approach Rushton, longest way around the double triangles here, (this being the location of the Darkin snr's fails), collected us two more codes (again, closest to S1 route) before travelling S through Upper Longwood and W back onto map 126, skirting Eaton Constantine, crossing the "B" then heading N, through Eyton on Severn and Wroxeter before another run along the un-fenced yellow, to the end of the section. Here we handed in our section 2 scorecards before doing the short section 3 (this was to keep us out of the PH whilst the org's did their marking!!)
Section 3 was to see us travel in an anti-clockwise loop, again departing in an ENE direction, this time though we were instructed to stay north of Northing 09. So, once again a short run along the "B" onto map 127 before passing under the A5 and slotting immediate left and back onto map 126! From here we travelled N through Charlton, before crossing the "B" at Walton and heading W collecting a couple. more codeboards whist passing through Whittington and Upton Magna. It was then S to Atcham, and E back along the "B" to the finish at the pub for food and beer.

The event started at the M54 services near Shifnal. The instructions were straight forward MR's with approach and depart directions. We were also instructed to "use as much yellow road" in certain squares without leaving said square. The event was split into two sections, with the first section answer sheets collected en-route.

Section one took use in an Easterly direction along the A5, before taking in the Burlington triangles and ford. From there we headed NE through Blymill Common, then SE towards Blymill Marsh before an anti-clockwise loop north of Blymill (an extra loop of 'yellow' here caught out a few crews who fell foul of taking the longest route but unfortunately left the square!) It was now N through Brienton and NW through Great Chatwell (collecting up a strange code board, a backwards 3!! on the way) before N again through Moreton and then turning S (picking up another strange code board, an 8 on its side!!) We now travelled through Bromstead Heath and Orslow before handing in our section one answers. (Code boards a plenty in this section!!)

Section two took us again in an easterly direction around the north side of Wheaton Aston before travelling S to the A5, a couple of short loops off the 'A' followed including the 'unsuitable for motors yellow' near Gailey, before a non-competitive run along the 'A', and over the M6, before the last short section of route got us to the finish venue, the clubhouse at Calf Heath Marina, where chip butties and beer awaited us before the results.

The event was based at The swan Inn, Knowle Sands, near Bridgnorth and was split into 5 sections.
The route information consisted of, black spots to avoid, via's in the form of spot heights and a straight herringbone with 'not as map' junctions.
Section one stated at SH.66 south of the PH, and instructed us to "use maximum yellow roads" to the finish at the junction with the B4363, APP NE.
So it was S towards Chelmarsh, taking in the Astbury 'yellow', before the short 'yellow' around the church, through the village, then SW to the finish of the section near Billingsley.
Section two used spot heights as via's which took us SW towards Chorley, then S to Bagginswood, then W to the infamous Prescott not as map SQR. (its a HPR when you get there!!) Team Darkin Jnr the only crew to successfully negotiate said junction!! (albeit at the 2nd attend as reported by their mother and father who witnessed it whist turning around!!!) Once we'd negotiated this junction and the following 'ford' we again travelled in a westerly direction to the section finish on the brook in SQ6481.
Section three was the herringbone which again took us W, through The Gobbett and Wheathill to the 'nam' junction at the B4364, from here we turned E towards Loughton before heading N at Norton towards Aston Botterell (code boards a plenty here!) to the finish of the section N of The Bold.
Section four instructed us to avoid the gradient symbol (>) near Oldfield, so we firstly headed NE through Wrickton, then S to Overton (avoiding the blackspot) then E to Middleton Scriven, now it was N back towards Oldfield before S again (the B4364 was now a blackspot in this section therefore forcing us this way!) to Tedstill and N once more through Euden George to the section finish at northing 90 near The Down.
Now it was a short run along the 'B' to the start of section 5 at Harpswood.
Section 5 instructed us to travel the 'longest' way but with several cleverly placed blackspots (including one which made you think you could use a road near Racecourse Fm to the W of Bridgnorth, which unfortunately you can't because the road signs determine your direction of travel!!!..... locals had an advantage here!!!!) the amount of roads we could use were limited. So we now went N through Underton towards Morville taking in The Lye hairpin, NE out of Morville then S to Morville Heath, over the A458, then SE past Bridgwalton to Cross Houses.
A short loop towards Oldbury, including the long way around a small green grass triangle in the village, and a run along 'Halfway House Lane' got us back to the PH where chunky chips and sandwiches awaited us whist the results were sorted.

The event was based at the Red Lion in Longdon Common, SW of Shrewsbury, and was split into 3 sections, with section one answers to be handed in en-route. The route instructions were in the form of black spots to avoid and via's consisting of spot heights and map references with approach and depart directions.
Section one started immediately with left the PH car park, we were instructed to travel the shortest route but staying as close to easting 47 as possible, and took use easterly through Lower Common, (the first code board being picked up within 650m of the start!!), four more followed in quick succession, including one on the grass triangle in SQ4405 cleverly hidden by a straw bale placed on the triangle by the organisers!! A short run down the A49 before slotting R towards Smethcott Commom collected us 4 mores code boards! From here we travelled SE onto map137, then E through Smethcott to the slot SRQ in SQ4699, a grass triangle on this junction catching out several crews who picked up a fail as they didn't travel the longest way around it (staying nearer easting 47). Now we travelled W to Woolstaston (another cleverly placed code board making us travel the long way around another grass triangle due to our approach direction!) then through Rattlinghope before the section finish at Bridges. We handed in our rather full scorecard here.

Section two took us a short clockwise loop through Kinnerton, and The Knolls to the the finish in SQ3897 collecting another 4 code boards en-route!!
Section three now instructed us to travel the longest way through a series of spot heights. So we headed N through Gatten and back onto 126, then the long way around the triangle near Westcott, SE to Cothercott Hill, and then NE towards Pulverbatch. Long way again here at the triangle junction, then easterly to the the rough "as map" triangle near Wilderley Hall. It was now NE before turning SQL at Moat farm, then W into Church Pulverbach before heading N back to the finish at the PH, although not without one last twist, another cleverly placed code board on the 'T' junction in SQ4203 (this again costing several crews a costly fail)

Back at the finish venue we were treated to an excellent spread of sandwiches, washed down with a pint, whilst awaiting the results.

The event was based at The Danery PH in Quatford, south of Bridgnorth, and was split into three sections.
The first section, which comprised of 'tulip' diagrams, was issued in the PH. The second and third were issued en-route.
Section One started SW of the infamous '5 ways' junction near Farmcote (we actually passed the route hand-in/out control prior to the start of the section) and we were instructed to take the longest route, so after several crews have gone around the triangles at '5 ways' more than once!! we headed N through Upper Farmcote, before the long way around the Woundale triangles, and NE through Claverley. From here we headed NW taking in Hopstone, Dallicott and Wyken, then S down the 'A', the long way around the Roughton triangles before two code boards greeted us down the 'Barnsley Lane straight'. The section finished at the junction with the 'A' road, and from here we travelled the short distance to the hand-in control where we were issued with the route information for section two.
Section two was in the form of a 'Straight herringbone' (we were advised not to try and plot it as some junctions would be 'not as map!!') so we had to follow it whilst plotting the route on the map at the same time!!! (busy time in the office for the nav’s here!!) Again we headed towards '5 ways', this time the herringbone gave us the correct route around the triangles (not without a fair bit of head scratching by several crews!!) From here we took in the Sytch House Green triangle before heading NE to Beobridge, then E through broughton and then SE past Bobbington Airport. It was now across Highgate Common before a craftely placed code board just prior to the change of map onto 139. After about 200m we were back onto 138 and heading westwards to the finish of the section at the junction with the 'A' near Four Ashes. From here we again headed back to the hand-in control where we were issued with the route information for section three.
Section Three was in form of a series of squares with one side erased, the object being that we departed the square we were in via the gaps, with the added pressure of having to travel the longest way within the section! Once again!! we traversed '5 ways' junction before heading southwards taking in Broad lanes and the famous 'Tuckhill Haipin'. From here we went SW through Coton and N through Kingsnordley before the longest way around the large 'as map' triangle in SQ7688 near Wooton and a short run westwards through The Holt to the finish of the section at the junction with the 'A' near Dudmaston Hall. It was now a short run along the main road back to the PH, where freshly made chips and sandwiches greeted us whilst we awaited the results.

The event was based at The Breidden Hotel , Middletown near Welshpool, and was split into three sections. Sections one and two were issued at the start with section three issued en-route.

Section one (The Bulthy) instructed us to travel the longest way from the start avoiding several black spots. A clever little loop around the start venue started the section. From here it was SW past Middletown Farm before a little loop back onto the 'A'. Another short loop through the village of Trewern, and then a clockwise loop back towards Trewern. Now we headed NE towards the Bulthy triangle, then SE to the section finish near Woolaston.
Section two (Choo Choo) started just over the 'A' road, we were now instucted to travel the shortest route crossing under the railway twice to the section finish in SQ2508. This took us in a westerly direction before turning N after Frochas, up to the 'A', then down the 'A' before taking the next left at Cefn and down the 'A' again to the section finish. From here we headed for the scorecard collection/section three hand out in Buttington.
Section three instructed us to again travel the longest way avoiding several black spots, whilst staying as far east on the map as possible without crossing easting 36! The section (Long Mountain) started SE of Welshpool near Leighton tre'r llai. From here we headed SE to Church House cross roads, then NE along "Long Mountian". Now we travelled eastwards through Rowley before turning NW near The Knapps, (a code board straight on tried to temp us further east, but a clever instruction of using no 'B' roads on any competitive sections issued on the event instructions stopped us doing this!) We now travelled towards a triangle in SQ3009, long way around here meant we stayed more easterly!!! From here it was westerly back along Long Mountain to the section finish near Buttington.
A short run back along the A458 to the finish venue followed where we were greeted with a Chinese buffet whilst awaiting the results.
