This page is dedicated to Mr. Colin McRae... the main man....
100%
Colin McRae was born in Lanarkshire, Scotland in 1968. He won the British Rally Championship for the first time in 1991 and became the youngest ever World Rally Champion in 1995, at the age of 27 .

Colin McRae is recognized as a unique talent, head & shoulders above any other British rally driver. (McKlein.)

....an expectant crowd lined
the special stage finish in a sweltering plantation near Bagerpang, in northern
Sumatra. Between high banks, a muddy track glistened with recent rain, flicking
right and left over the flying finish, then straightening for 100 meters to a
90-degree bend funneling on to a bridge. The distant, syncopated bark of a
Subaru flat-four engine rang through the trees, then suddenly the blue and
yellow car burst into sight. There was no pause, no feathering of the throttle
to allow for a surface that a road car wouldn't take at more than 20mph. The
switch from accelerator to brake was as decisive as if it were bone dry asphalt.
There was a clipped down change, a momentary sweep of the steering and the Subaru
cut through the ess-bend at a speed that beggared belief, then braked savagely
yet smoothly for the 90 right. A ripple of appreciation and nervous laughter ran
through the crowd. Whether it was the first time they'd seen a rally car or the
1,000th, it was impossible to credit that a 300bhp, four-door saloon weighing
more than a ton could be driven so quickly. Colin McRae had been in a class
apart. Somehow, the road seems to be wider for him than anyone else....

"I don't tell Colin
what to do - he's the best driver, very professional." (Malcolm
Wilson.)
"Ever
since that mild May day during the `87 Manx National Rally, having moved over to
let him past, I just knew someone very special was developing. We drove a G3 in
those days. Colin...
he was pedalling a Vauxhall Nova!" (PhilM.)
