Dave Clayton

What! No more pints..    Is that a parting or a firebreak?

NE stats:
6 x 3rd, 9 x 2nd, 8 x 1st O/A placing.

Class Winner: 96/97 season.

Profile: Dave works as a mechanic in garage that specializes in Ford motor cars.
Involved with NExposure through long time friend Dick Lee.
Dave’s main passion is motor sport, both short oval and rallies. For a number of years Dave has spannered for various people in different formula within the short oval circuit racing world.
Most successful period was when he built up and ran a mini stock for his nephew who then went on to numerous wins and championship honors. Although no longer directly involved in the short oval racing Dave is still a familiar face to many of competitors at the local circuits.

More recently Dave has spannered for Dick Lee on many of his rallying adventures in the infamous ‘Martini Escort MK1,’ including some lively trips to Belgium.

In October 2000 Dave was drafted in to navigate friend Paul Bunch to class victory on Telford’s Saw and Weld rally. This may not sound too special but this was Dave’s first road rally finish, added to the fact that he was given two hours notice being a last minute replacement and had been at work until an hour before he departed to scrutineering.

Anyway just to prove it wasn’t a fluke and after a foot and mouth induced 11 month break, Dave once again navigated Paul to take Novice Class victory and 9th O/A on Telford Auto Clubs – ‘About Time Too Road Rally’

Apart from motor sport, Dave also enjoys the ‘odd pint and night out with the crowd!’
